An article in a fashion magazine said eyebrows are a very important feature, as they frame your entire face. While we are quick to purchase a new lipstick or wrinkle cream that will (supposedly) take years off our life, we neglect our eyebrows.
I rushed to the bathroom, swept back my bangs and stared in the mirror. Two dirty blond, bushy, catepillar-like brows stared back at me. I couldn’t remember the last time I trimmed, shaped or waxed. Could this be the reason I looked so tired lately? I immediately called the salon. I left their shop later that day looking younger, happier and as if I just got a good night’s sleep. Almost like a mini-facelift.
Like eyebrows, the same goes for window treatments. Neglected, outdated styles age your home. We hang a panel or valence to brighten up a room, but we let it “hang” there for years. Now my Mom would say, “These are perfectly good curtains. Not a thing wrong with them.” And she is right. Except that this style and fabric was popular in the 80’s.

Shades or panels that are too short, faded or made from old and tired fabrics may still give you a warm, fuzzy memory, but really do more harm than good. The right window treatment says you are design and style savvy, adds a pop of color and instantly updates your décor.
Notice how this “balloon shade” style in the kitchen is modernized by using a popular gray color palette and a trendy, abstract fabric.
Take an honest look at the window coverings in your home. Maybe like your eyebrows, it’s tiime to “shape up” your window décor? And be sure to visit our shop on Etsy for fabric selections, modern designs and examples of our work.
Those look beautiful! Thank you for the helpful post. Interestingly, I scanned through the swatches and picked the one you picked right away. http://manhattanshades.com/
